[olug] Eth0 works, now onto IPTables

Ok, partial success.
I have located and downloaded iptables-1.2.2.tar.bz2 (got it from the
Slackware site). I even managed to get it unzipped and extracted.
The install file says to:
make pending-patches KERNEL_DIR= <<where your kernel is>> (I assume this
means my kernel source code. Since I have 2.4.5 do I need to do this?)
make install KERNEL_DIR= <<where your kernel is>>
Do I need to recompile my kernel after I do this? (Good lord I hope not)
Thanks again. (This would be easier if the damn thing did have a configure
script)

I think RH made rpm 4 available as a .rpm for RH 6.x systems - I'll have to
see if I can dig it out.

Yes. Very simple:
extract
./configure
make
make install
