[OLUG] First sparc

Actully what I'm looking for is some advice on what would be a good starter
system. The things I should look out for and the things that I want to make
sure and get. I know nothing about Sun hardware and I've got a itch to learn
about it. I'm just wandering what model system would be a good? And about
what I should expect to pay for it.

Check out the Sun clones and refurbished Sun units at www.ccny.com
You'll have to call them or request a quote to get prices.

The clones have nearly all Sun parts (except drives, etc).  You can save
35% on the price for the same hardware.  It's just in a non-sun
manufactured box.  For example, A loaded Sun E450 is over $40K.  The
same thing in a clone is $27K.  I don't care how pretty it is, no case
is worth over $13K!

Sun equipment can get obnoxiously expensive.  We recently bought some
Sun network cards where I work.  They were $1200/ea!
