Ok i went to the afore mentioned site and do not know what to download there is an incredible
number of files there but i looked at the alternate help and it said this

In Red Hat Linux 6.1, there are a few extra steps needed to get a parallel port printer to
work. This step is no longer necessary under Red Hat Linux 6.2:

Edit your /etc/conf.modules and add:

             alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc

Then log in as root and run:

modprobe lp

When I ran the modprobe lp it took. Or seemed like it took But I don't know what it is that
it did.
My printer still does not work. Does anyone know what is wrong here ?

Thanks,
Nate
