If I remember right, it's more like a technique. Run an IDS (Intruder Detection
System) to detect scanning and then add entries to the routing table for the
offending IP, setting its gateway to localhost.
Search OLUG's archive for the discussion.
The command to modify the kernel routing table would be:
route add 24.3.N.N gw localhost
Or some such. N are the applicable numbers gotten from your IDS.
