Could anybody elaborate on why some networks are unfriendly
to ICMP? I have no problems pinging out of my NAT'd network,
but I guess that might be because the DSL router isn't doing it.
Our network at work is also translated at the firewall, but it
doesn't eat ping packets either.
How pervasive is this phenomenon Drazak mentioned? Are admins
trying to protect themselves from flood attacks or something?
