[OLUG] interpreting core file

[puzzled]

    Can someone tell me where to start learning about interpreting a
core file? I have a network management app I am trying to get running
and a critical piece dumps on me every time I invoke it. The output from
strace is not enough to tell me why its dying and I am totally
frustrated.
