[OLUG] XFree86 Notes

	I built the latest snapshot last night, taking 1 1/2 hours on a Celeron
300A with 64megs RAM.  Result: Failure.  The hardest part was finding
disk space, I needed like 300M!

	Positive note: I just successfully installed XFree 3.3.6 using the
binary distro, and it's so much response then 3.3.3.1 it's scary :-)

	Procedure: I backed up the old X11R6 into a Xbackup.tgz and deleted the
X11R6 directory entirely.  After the installing from scratch into a new
/usr/X11R6, I copied /etc/termcap to /etc/termcap.old and replaced it
with the new 3.3.6 termcap.  Then I copied Xclients and xinitrc from
/etc/X11/xinit over into /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xinit/ and
/etc/X11/XF86Config into /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/.  Then I unpacked
Xbackup.tgz into /usr/Xbackup directory, and 'cp -R'ed the contents of
/Xbackup/X11R6/lib into /usr/X11R6/lib, without allowing any over
writes.  Boom! it works :-) 

	My previous configuration of kde comes up fine, and comes up faster. 
Everything omes up faster.
