What hardware are you guys using for these Linux switches?

Now that and I have 10 GbE SFP+ and or 40 GbE  QSFP cards in all my home
stuff I need to find a reasonably priced switch.

I don't really want to spend more than $1000 on a switch that I am basically
using as an educational toy.

Their software stack is built on top of a new Linux distro they made. But is
their software switch truly open source?
