I enabled a BIOS level watchdog timer on a ubuntu server this year thinking
the kernel module would be loaded automatically .... no ... our phone
system rebooted every five minutes. The watchdogs could be set in two
different places in the BIOS. MOST likely not your problem, but I thought
I would share the humor. Did not catch the reboots before racing back to
switch off with the wife, so had to wake and load all 3 kids and head back
while wife went to work.
