Yeah, my understanding is that XenDesktop is a Type1 HyperVisor

On that note, I have heard arguments that if one installs virtualbox on a
headless (no WM)
machine.  It is essentially a type 1 hypervisor.  even though it's really a
type 2 hypervisor.
I have played with this configuration a bit and it works well
