[olug] Heart attack after 11.04 upgrade

I would be interested in following along on your experiences
with this because I am a big user of EMC2, which sticks with
the current Ubuntu LTS version, now 10.04. So I use 10.04 LTS
for everything, it's my primary desktop.

And so with the "shenanigans" of Ubuntu lately, there have
been some who have mentioned that maybe the EMC2 group needs
to be looking at another distro, maybe Debian itself, or
maybe Mint or PCLinuxOS. We probably won't stray too far from
the Debian root since everyone is used to it and Synaptic
(apt-get) is pretty hard to beat. Or conversely, maybe Ubuntu
will get it together by the time 12.04 LTS comes around, and
no change will be necessary. (I see that Mint is #2 on the
Distrowatch list and poised to take over #1 from Ubuntu, so
there must be some "shoppers" looking around for alternatives.)

Please keep posting on this, or start a blog if you get to
feeling like you're ranting, some of us are very interested.

Thanks
