I think this will be your best option.  It lets each OS see the printer as
it is and use their own drivers (for good or bad).

We've had good luck with HP JetDirect boxes at work, but it's been quite a
while since I've used one at home.  (My home laser printer of 3+ years is a
Brother HL-2700CN - great color*B&W text, but not great photos -- bought it
because it was about $300 with integrated networking and works great with
both Linux and Windows systems.)
