[olug] Slow read speeds-SuSE

Both ls and ls -latr return quick so not that... 

Main and HR_Data are the 2 volumes I am using.

So this backup is probably a bunch of small files.
Is this machine  or particular filesystem Active Directory joined?  In
other words, do the files on the partition have a set of permissions
that need to be accessed from a third system to determine if the user
is allowed read access?
If you notice a big difference in time between a 'ls' and a 'ls -latr'
then it may be a permission problem.
Long shot, but very simple test.

So there were two /media/ mounts, so i assume that is read only media
because there was no space left on those.  But the following (backup
pool?) is almost full as well.  Is /dev/evms/DATA where the slow data
is written?
/dev/evms/DATA            11      11       0  100%
/opt/novell/nss/mnt/.pools/DATA
