Interesting.

I guess a meter is based off a constant and a unit of time 1⁄299,792,458 a second.  There's a nice round number for ya.

The only common "1D" measurement I can come up with is "Time".  You
have forward and back (i.e. tomorrow, or 2 hours ago)...
