So, what happens if Windows is loaded on a recovery partition (as is so often done now), and there is no media to return?

 I ran the Harry Potter books through a spell checker; none of those spells should work.

Too bad their comment form is broken.

The only way I know of to get a refund for Windows:
1. Purchase computer on a credit card (required).
2. Package all Windows-related materials (if any) and ship back to vendor via 
certified mail.
3. Dispute OEM cost of Windows on credit card charge.
4. If dispute is questioned, use certification of mail to prove return.
