[olug] Wireless bridge

Well so far no luck, guys. I tried using nmap, it detected all the machines
on my wireless network except the bridge. So I plugged the bridge straight
into the wireless router, and it showed up in the attached devices list...
but then of course, it got very confused when I tried to go to the internal
webserver... hehehe

Then I tried Mr. Tetherow's idea... I just turned everything off, shut 'er
down, and stuck a paper-clip in the back to reset the device. Then I plugged
it in and hooked it up, and started my computer again. I turned off my
wireless adapter (which sort of works, but not satisfactorily, which is why
I got the bridge to begin with), and tried to set up a local-only network
between my PC and the bridge. Success! Almost... when I did an ifconfig, I
discovered that my network was the default for a failed IP (something like
169.254.*.*, or something... I don't exactly remember.) I tried setting my
own PC to something on the 10.10.*.* subnet, 10.10.1.2 and 10.10.1.100, no
dice.

The link lights work fine, in other words, the CB3000 thinks that its
connected to both my PC and the wireless network, but my PC can't see either
one.

I was able to get to the bridge once when I set it up under Windows XP, ...
I used a program on the driver CD to detect it's IP where it was attached to
the computer. But when I tried to go to the IP it detected, it spent 2 or 3
minutes "waiting for a reply from 10.10.1.1", and then timed out. I'm just
about ready to call the manufacturer, but I'm a little skeptical about
getting any Linux support.
