Take a look @ the open source Vyatta   www.vyatta.org  or commercially 
www.vyatta.com

The new version 5 is out in the community branch..    (ver  5 now has a 
web based gui)

I have 16 Vyatta 514 appliances connecting all of our stores..    And a 
2500 in our data center.   They're definitely giving Cisco a kick in the 
pants.    On their website you'll find they really fly the "better 
support" flag..   And they should.  Coupled with the commercial 
appliances we have their support contract, they've been amazing.   One 
of the support reps spent her two days off working on a problem I had 
which was caused by an old PIX on the other side of the VPN.  

I also have the opensource version running on a Nokia IP440 system for 
my home firewall.

The commercially supported appliances are significatnly cheaper than 
comparitive Cisco devices and offer more throughput.
