I'd have to agree with DYNATRON's statements. I've made tens of
thousands on eBay but it's not for everyone/everything. I'd be
skeptical of obtaining a fair value for the car on today's eBay
marketplace unless it's a rare Corvette, and then it would make sense
to advertise in Hemmings Motor Sales or some other classic car venue
to attract serious buyers.

eBay/PayPal will take approx. 12% off the top. And it's entirely valid
that if you, as a seller, don't have quite an established reputation
(i.e., lots of good feedback and a long history as a seller) then you
can safely assume the car's final selling price will be less than for
someone with a good, long seller's history on eBay.

All that being said, if you're still interested in going down that
path, talk to your friend about exactly how much he wants out of his
car, add 15% on top and stick it up on eBay with a Buy It Now price.
