I'll ask someone who might know video....UHM?

Video Editing:
Kino, Avidemux, pitivi, kdenlive, GOPchop


DVD burning/authoring:
DeeVeeDee, DVD_Author......

For Conversions I use FFMPEG.

Audacity as a good cross-platform audio editor.


Test any or all to get the feel of what you like.....
