I've seen this bahavior with owned windows machines sending multicast and caused upstream provider's routers to flap, and even their redundant routers

Well, yes, it IS Linksys residential, second or third one, last replaced
maybe 6 months ago....

Replaced Linksys/Cisco SR2024 switch w/ same ~ 2 months ago. All patch
panel connections are CAT6 except from Linksys to Switch. Believe
Linksys to Windsteam is "factory" cable provided by Linksys, Linksys to
Switch is same? from previous router?? Sticking w/ a color scheme? . DSL
"jack" mounts directly behind rack...think/hope it's "home-run" directly
back to NID??
