Good information to say the least. I am, and have been for a long time, the OS advocate here. I am finally making headway into things I have been preaching for 4 years (OO.o, virtual servers, Linux, SAN's) and just want to start down the right road because changing direction here is like getting blood from a mummy. 8)

So, what you are saying is that XEN on that hardware WON'T do 2 Win Client and a Linux Client??

If you ask me ESX would be the way to go.

2 reasons:

a) ESX will run unmodified guests on hardware Xen won't. ie I've got a
dual 2.8GHz Xeon setup with 8GB RAM that will make a decent ESX host,
but on the same hardware Xen will limit me to Xen-aware Linux and *BSD
guests

b) Especially in a business setting you gotta worry about your
successors... it's easier to find people who know a lot about ESX/ESXi
than it is Xen

The big downside with ESX/ESXi is it is really really really picky about
ethernet and RAID controllers.

'probably not what Craig was asking for though ;)
