Good news.  I used the link you provided to make my own cable.  I went to
Radio Shack, got a D-Sub hood and pin set and chopped apart an old
straight-through Ethernet cable.  It works perfectly.

The one thing I never thought about was the fact that I was using the same
cable on every terminal.  >.<

I used to make these Cisco console cables/adapters quite frequently. I
remember buying up all of Radio Shack's DB9 <-> RJ45 adapters. For all
