[olug] Replacing and upgrading DVD Drives

I wouldn't buy a sony drive.  Sony uses their own proprietary communications
format.  Linux has reverse engineered it, but if you wanted to switch to a
BSD or another OS, you might be out of luck.  OpenBSD doesn't support Sony
drives because they don't want to spend the time to reverse engineer it.

Most any drive will work with Linux - including the generic ones.
