[olug] Remote view/control of Windows XP...

Aside from trying to setup a VPN and then using VNC or Windows RDC to
view/control a family members remote Windows XP computer, what else is
there?

I'd like something like WebEx or GoToMyPC, but the cost for using it only
2-3 times a year is to prohibitive.

Is there a freeware alternative anyone can recommend?
