[olug] autofs question

I've read about 5 tutorials on using autofs, and none quite address this, so I'm starting to think it's not a possibility. Or maybe autofs is the wrong solution.

What I want to happen is have my Windows shares (say, I:\, J:\, and W:\) mount in my home directory (say, ~/shares/i, ~/shares/j, ~/shares/w). I want this to happen for anybody else logging in to the machine, too. One can assume the other users will have the same sharenames (I, J, W) and will mount them in the same places. What would be really nice is if one user has a unique share (maybe K:\) that he could add it himself.

All the examples I've seen have the pertinent files owned by root, nothing being done on a per-user basis. Can this be done? Is there a better way to accomplish this? There's got to be an easy way for everyone to be connected to "their" directories on file servers.

Thanks,
Tim
