Hey, small world!

It's hard to go wrong with APC.

They provide a GUI management tool called "PowerChute Personal  
Edition" and a USB communications cable (for the current stuff).

You can download the latest version for OS X (through 10.4.x) and  
Windows 2k/XP/2k3 off their web site.
