[olug] external hard drive

I'm not sure if this helps, but I also have an external  USB hard drive, 
and Fedora Core 4 will automatically mount it when I plug it in just 
like a flash drive.  I don't know any details on how it does it though.  
However, I do know that it doesn't use the standard HD device when it 
mounts it.   Perhaps a USB device?  The only difference I can see is 
that mine is formated with a Linux ext3 system instead of ntfs.  So, you 
may need to load the ntfs libraries to make it work.
