VNC is single user only if I remember right. Term services in a basic 
windows server lets you have two clients connected. You can also ensure 
the admin uses their domain account and controll access to remote in 
through the domain as well.

Personally I use a win2k with rdesktop for windows servers and exceed 
for unix. HP RILO boards for windows and term concentrators on suns 
provide lower level access. Works great, and I never need to go into the 
data center.
