What do you mean by garbage? You mean it burns garbage or the burncd
process explodes with garbage?

Have you tried mounting the ISO to see if it is borked?
# vnconfig -f /dev/vn0 <path to ISO>
# mount -t cd9660 /dev/vn0 /mnt

Failing that, I'd suggest you try ripping it again and see if it comes out
the same. Do you have ATAPICAM in your kernel? If so, have you tried using
cdrecord instead?
