[olug] Cox SMTP

Come now.....COX using Baker's bagboys as administrators? They wouldn't
do that would they? I called once and I asked if the "static" IP
address that I could "purchase" was actually static, or simply a dynamic
one that gets renewed and guaranteed to me. He was so lost he told me
to use a subnet address instead of the 68.xx.xx.xx address. I laughed
and said, "sure, OR you could give me your home IP address and we could
set up IP sharing."

All advice is free, but good advice is found elsewhere...

A also have intermittent problems with cox's (mandatory) SMTP server.

I always just assumed it was bad administration...

Is anyone else having problems using the (forced) cox SMTP servers?
They seem
to about 1/2 the time i try to send mail, not ever accept the
message.... and
then it gets held in my outbox to be sent later.

Is anyone else having this problem? If so, do you know why?
