The readme is decent..  I'm still using the 4496 driver 
(http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_archive.html) as I've heard 
the new ones were a little buggy.  Another resource is the forums at 
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=14

The tvnv that was mentioned earlier is part of the NV TV-Out sourceforge 
project.  I've never used it so don't know if it's compatible with the 
nvidia drivers or an alternative..
