ethereal = sniffer = decoding of packets received by the ethernet port of the box running ethereal.

It's another package available for many distributions...

Yeah, I tried accessing http://192.168.100.1, but it doesn't come up.  I meant
to check that with my father's/sister's modem, but I forgot to.

You mean pull out the ethernet card?  I guess I don't understand what you mean
by 'ethereal'.  Please give me some more detail.
