Reminder: The next OLUG meeting will be held on the first Tuesday of
September 2004 (7 September 2004) with the following agenda:

First, our presentation: Linux on Xboxes, by Aaron Grothe

Microsoft's Xbox game console is largely a PC in disguise. A lot of
people became curious if it would be possible to install Linux on such a
box instead of the version of Windows 2000 that came with the machine. A
lot of work later and it is possible and quite easy to get a
Microsoft-subsidized PC to run Linux on. Several methods of modifying the
Xbox to run Linux will be discussed (Software or Mod Chip) and a simple
installation using the Mechassault buffer overflow will be shown.

Aaron Grothe is the former President/CEO of Heimdall Linux, a Linux
company that was developing a Common Criteria evaluated version of
GNU/Linux several years ago. Mr. Grothe has lately been spending his time
working for the Man in a variety of jobs (Sys/Admin, DBA, etc) and
planning his NBI (Next Big Idea).

Second: OLUG Q & A
Have a question? Problem? Something still not working after the Install
fest? Bring them up during the OLUG Q & A!
