[olug] nostalgia

I was pretty hot stuff with my Pentium 90 - 8MB of ram in late 1994. I
only had time for supper and some chit chat when I compiled my kernel.
Of course I was on the 11th floor of the dorm and we would walk over to
the lunch room, eat for a while, walk back, and wait a few minutes. I
think it took about hour and 15 minutes. When I upgraded to 16MB of ram
that went down to like 45 minutes to do the same compile.

My friend did all his stuff on a 486 with 64MB of ram and it "felt"
faster than mine for doing day to day stuff but his compiles still took
longer.
