Dear lists,

The UNO ACM and UNO Library would like to invite you to a free screening
of the film "Willful Infringement" (2003) by Jed Horovitz. The film will
be shown on Friday April 30th at 6:00pm in the Eppley Auditorium, on the
UNO campus at 60th and Dodge.

This intriguing documentary takes a first-hand look at how current
copyright law is being used to stifle innovation and progress, rather than
promote it. With large corporations touting piracy, copyright
infringement, and the DMCA we see copyright law being used as a tool of
censorship affecting those in the arts, sciences (copyright protection
mechanisms), and our own daily lives where copyright controls are now more
pervasive than ever... in a society where the instant and rapid exchange
of information and ideas is more ubiquitous than ever.

Please feel free to pass this announcement along to any parties you feel
may be interested, especially local artists, and those with concerns over
free speech and civil liberties, law, and the future of our society as
creators and distributors in the exchange of information.

For more information about this event as well as links to the "Free
Culture" movement (starting April 23rd), please see:

Thank you,

Brian Wiese
