To share a drive from the linux machine you can use SWAT , you get to the
interface by going to    http://localhost:901

to mount a drive from the windows machine
make a directory to mount the share to, and then
mount  -t   smb //WINDOWS_MACHINE_NAME/SHARE_NAME /MOUNT_DIR

i.e
mkdir /opt/backup
mount -t smb //winxp1/backup  /opt/backup

samba site
http://us2.samba.org/samba/samba.html
