What do you have setup?

Have you setup samba via swat? i.e.

http://localhost:901
(may have to change /etc/xinetd.d/swat from disable=yes to disable=no)

you could use Gnomba to browse the smb shares from windows machines

Or are you using NFS?

How are you trying to see the directories?
