[olug] frustration: first Slackware, now Gentoo

You two are soo cute. :)

Ok, on topic sorta. I'm planing on moving my main linux box to some
different hardware so I'm considering moving from Debian (stable) to
Gentoo. The package management in gentoo seems to be like a cross
between debian and freebsd, which looks nice. I'm not worried about
install difficulties, or ultra ease of use. My main desktop has become
my OS X powerbook (wow, macs rule these days) so GUI isn't a big
concern either. Just a cleanly designed and thought out system.
Development tools, samba, netatalk, LAMP, etc, are all I really need.
Debian policy has me spoiled. I just spent the past 2 days at work
wrestling redhat, I came home and hugged my debian machine. (Well, I
actually sorta patted it's case and said nice box)

So my question is, have any other debian heads made the switch. What do
you think of it?
