[olug] LAN Connections

The problem that I have with Cox (and I do use their internet service,
although not their cable TV service) is that they are running, or
attempting to run, a monopoly--- much like some other business monopoly
which all of you in this group probably have little respect for, i.e.
Microsoft.
Cox tries to get the control over your TV, your computer, your local phone,
and your long distance. They even give "discounts" (?!?) when you agree
to turn your life--opps-- I mean, all of your services over to them. And
it's just plain scary when any one company has that much power over the
choices -- or lack thereof-- of any given community.

I have ever delt with. They do have some questionalbe practices but they
compensate with great customer service. Nothing like running cable lines on
the ground just waiting for a mower to chew it up.
