[olug] Advice on a white box builder

I remeber when DIT changed their warranty on pre-built systems from 3 years
to 1 year. Their reasoning was something along the lines of "due to the
increase in quality of parts, we are cutting our warranty period from 3
years to 1 year."

Dit is a good place to buy either barebones or parts. The support people
aren't that helpful. They managed to steer a good friend of mine down the
wrong path when he asked if he could put an IDE card in a PC and use more
than 4 drives. They said yes it would work and no it didn't. It wasn't so
much the fact that they were wrong but they sounded like they were sure it
would work. Sometimes a simple "I don't know is the right answer."

Regards,

Aaron
