[olug] Printing System

since the subject of printing has come up, what do people use for their
printing system??

Most distros come with lpd out-of-the-box. But, I'll declare it now --
lpd sucks rocks. I've heard great things about cups, especiall for a
network environment. But I'm only one guy, with one machine. I use pdq,
which isn't fast by any means, but works great for a printer hooked up
to a desktop machine. And you can tweak your config per user, and the
xpdq manager is quite nice.

Oh, and I have a HP500c deskjet. It's ancient (I got it for free several
years ago, and it was old then), but you can still find ink for it, and
it's a trooper about printing. And it's well supported.
