Careful reading gives us some valuable information:

The author isn't sure whether or not his "breakthrough" will even be
applicable for current key sizes in use today.

The larger area of concern is the fact that it appears this reduces the
strength of Elliptic Curve Cryptography, even more so than standard RSA
Cryptography.

I'd like to add, again, in large friendly letters, don't panic. :)
