|127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
|10.200.6.223 kauffman2443.tconl.com kauffman2443 # eth0
|192.168.3.1 dkauffman # eth1
|192.168.3.2 dekauff # windows box
|
|As far as I know, according to the tests I've done on MASQ'ing and NAT,
that
|is set up correctly.

So this is one Linux box (127.0.0.1, 10.200.6.223=eth0, 192.168.3.1=eth1)
and one Windows box (192.168.3.2). ? I assume the linux box (eth1) and
windows box are connected via a private switch (not the same as
eth0/internet one), and not a crossover cable?

|I can conect to the net from the linux box ok but when I try to ping the
|windows box I get the following message:

I take it the windows box is not working at all? (no net, no ping..) Can
you ping the Linux box gateway (192.168.3.1) from the Windows box?

double check:
1) hardware/switches/cables/link lights/... ifconfig/winipcfg
2) computer's ip addresses, netmasks, routes... can they ping each other?
					(as you are trying here)

|PING 192.168.3.2 (192.168.3.2) from 192.168.3.1 : 56(84) bytees of
data.
|From 192.168.3.1: Destination Host Unreachable
|
|I've checked the ip address on the win box several times and it is
corect.

try from the win box, to ping to the linux box

|I've set up dns entries on the windows box according to the IP MASG
Howto.
|
|The lights on the NIC's indicate there is no data going through yet I've
used
|them both before so I know they're ok.
|
|I've also set up hosts on the win box.
|
|What am I missing?

I'm assuming there's just some small little mistake somewhere that got
glossed over. I would suggest trying connectivity tests from the windows
box also. Best of luck! - sounds to be the only thing you're probably
missing. =)

|I'm open to any suggestions of what I can try.
|
|Thanks!
