[olug] PPP server

I am not having good luck getting Redhat 7.2 to make a PPP connection.
I have everything working fine with Redhat 7.1 however.
I can get a HyperTerminal connection to my Redhat 7.2 and it connects at
38400 according to stty and 57600 according to the display at the bottom of
HyperTerminal.
The speed is controlled by the mgetty.config file for the most part I think.
I also have on my Redhat 7.1 system added -s 38400 and -s 57600 to the
mgetty line.
I am not sure if this overrides the mgetty.config or not.
S0:2345:respawn:/sbin/mgetty -D -s 38400 ttys0

In the options.server line that you referenced in login.config on the
AutoPPP line, where did you find info about the file parameter?
I setup my system like you described and added an IP address into
pap-secrets and could not get a ppp connection to complete.
Are you running DHCP on the PPP server also for giving out network address
info to inbound clients?

Subject: [olug] PPP server

I connected from home last night to my PPP server and got a 28.8 connection.
Up
until this time I have been dialing out from work back into this box at
work, so I was
ging out of our PBX and then back into the PBX to get to this box (it's
sitting on my
desk to my 2nd phone line). When I dialed in from hoem, of course I only
hit the
PBX once. I had no idea that the PBX would cause that much of a problem.

Mike: You said something about telling mgetty to only drop down to 33k or
28k.
Where would I set this?
