[olug] fdisk problem

When going into fdisk.. did you tell it to delete the logical drive first and then delete the extended partition? You have to do it in those steps or it won't work. If you select option 3 and then option 3 again that should work.

Is there a public domain or open source program anyone has run that will delete the extended partition from a Linux install?

Windows 98 second edition fdisk will not do it because it does not see any logical partitions to delete and will not allow the extended area to be deleted.

I was testing an IDE hard drive with Linux and DOS with a mirroring controller and ran into this problem.
