Angela...
I apologize. I should have been a little more comprehensive in my explaination. Here is the full deal: First, as has been pointed out, you need to do Fdisk. Next you need to remove all non dos partitions. Then remove any dos partitions that may have hung around. Next, select item 1 to create a dos partition. After that select item number 1 to create a primary dos partition. Then it will run through the disk. it will ask you if you want the maximum available amount dedicated to this partition. Select yes. Then once that is done. Select option number 2 to set an active partition. Set item 1 in the list.. the only item listed here to active. Then hit the escape key to leave fdisk. It tells you, you need to restart the machine. After that reboot the machine. Make sure your have your Windows boot disk, like I said earlier, preferably a Win 98 Boot Disk, if possible. Then after you have rebooted.. type format c: at the DOS prompt. It will ask you if you want to format... just say y for yes. Then it will format. Once formatting is complete. switch to the CD-ROM drive (for example... cd d:) then hit enter then type setup and the Windows cd should begin running. You should be good to go from there. Again.. make sure you have the device drivers for all of the hardware available. After Windoze has installed then you must install teh device drivers and you will be good to go from there.

Subject: [olug] Corel Linux Reformat

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way I can reformat my Corel Linux box back to
Windows95? (Normally I wouldn't do this, but I don't think my 90 year-old
grandfather is ready for Linux!). There is a DOS prompt option on startup,
but if you choose that option, it just says "non-system disk error, press
any key when ready" and goes back to the menu. Since I can't even get into
DOS, I can't begin to imagine how I would do a reformat. (It's a Pentium 75
with 48 MB of RAM).

Thanks,
Angela
