I just went through this last week. My mistakes are as follows:
1) check the CMOS settings for the hard drive. On mine the cylinders, heads
and sectors was right but i had the advanced setting wroing. i.e. LBA?
2)make sure your startup disk is clean and functional ( mine was bad - had
been sitting on the shelf too long I guess)
3)"fdisk /mbr" command is esential for win95 to see the hard drive.

Good Luck.

Roger

Subject: [olug] Corel Linux Reformat

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way I can reformat my Corel Linux box back to
Windows95? (Normally I wouldn't do this, but I don't think my 90 year-old
grandfather is ready for Linux!). There is a DOS prompt option on startup,
but if you choose that option, it just says "non-system disk error, press
any key when ready" and goes back to the menu. Since I can't even get into
DOS, I can't begin to imagine how I would do a reformat. (It's a Pentium 75
with 48 MB of RAM).

Thanks,
Angela
