[olug] Sound

Am I missing something ?  I got the sound card to load and it plays CD's
but that's it I can hear the speakers click on, on load and reboot but
won't play anything and when I go to record or play a wav with the gnome
program says device is in use by another program ?  I don't have
anything else running that I am aware of.  Also when I tried to play the
same wav's through real player they started to work then were real
choppy and now that does not work either.  What am I missing here ?
