Hi guys.

Well I've finally gotten fed up with my current computing situation to the
point where I'm willing to spend some money. Currently I think I can bring
a new PC into the house for under $400, but with the plethora of online
shops I'm sure I haven't even scratched the surface with my search.

Here's kind of what I'm looking at:

FIC AZ11 Socket A Mobo $89.71

RAM 128Mb DIMM $20

Athlon 1GHz $90
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=CP2-TK7-1000P%20C

ThermalTake processor fan $13

ATX Case (somewhere local) $50

Cheapy AGP video card $29
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=P450-7006
(Anyone every heard of this brand before?)

WD 30 Gb HD $90
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?sku=THD-300AB

This brings me to $382 without shipping. Since I'm getting the case
locally shipping shouldn't be too bad.

I'm reusing my FD, CD, monitor, keyboard, NIC, etc. Anyone see any
compatibility problems? I am not as up on current hardware as I used to
be. I'll set it up in a dual boot since I'll be sharing it with my wife.
I won't really be doing any high-end gaming on it (my games are all at
least 3 or 4 years old). I also need to find an old PCI SCSI card so that
I can hook up my scanner.

Any suggestions or comments welcome, especially if they'll save me money.

Bill
