MS Exchange 5.0 supports pop3 for e-mail and LDAP for access to the address
book. MS Exchange 5.5 also supports also supports IMAP4. I think you will
need to configure the Internet mail connector (the Exchange SMTP gateway for
those of you that wish MS would stop renaming every standard(count me a
member of that group)) to be able to send an outbound message. Make sure
that the alias field matches your NT account name in the exchange admin
tool. POP3 IMAP4 and LDAP support can be turned off and on in the Exchange
admin tool. These options can be set at many levels in Exchange.
User/server/Site.

LDAP is a bit odd on Exchange.

To answer you question, any program that supports POP3 or IMAP4. I use
Netscape mail on a PowerMAC to do about the same thing.

By default most POP3 clients delete all mail on the server and download the
mail to the client program. It is a good idea to turn this option off to
begin with.

To confirm POP3 is running telnet Exchangeserver.yourcompany.com 110

Port 110 should answer back with
+OK Microsoft Exchange POP3 server version 5.5.2650.23 ready

Does anyone know a mail program on Linux that will interface with a MS
exchange server?
